The Problem

Metal Roof Coating Before and After (ACS)

  • Initial inspection with ACS showed the original system was nearing the end of its life making it the perfect time to overcoat before corrosion started to damage the existing metal sheets. Mitigating the need of replacement of sheets which would cause disruption to the owners day to day use of the building was paramount.
  • Original perished plastisol protective coating system was starting to chalk and break down in numerous areas. This resulted in leaving little to no protection to the original metal sheets with some areas completely delaminating.
  • Sheets were exposed to further breakdown which would ultimately lead to sheets having to be replaced if protection not reinstated.
  • Steep pitch and access issues meant that there was a concern about how long the job would take and therefore a system that was quick to apply and reduced contractor time on the roof was required.
